Rhythmic Gymnastics
Rhythmic gymnastics, or gymrama to some, is a beautiful and elegant sport where gymnasts dance along with music and apparatus on the carpet. It’s where grace, flexibility, strength and discipline meet on a standard competition area of 13 meters x 13 meters carpet. The apparatus used include: rope, hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon and freehand.
With rhythmic gymnastics, your kids will pick up these skills apart from soft skills like communication and discipline:
Apparatus handling – ball, rope, hoop, clubs, ribbon.
- Flexibility training and stretching.
- Floor work exercise – body wave, acrobatics, leaps, pivots, balance.
- Facial expression.
- Musicality.
- Dance lessons like latin, ballroom, modern, jazz, & contemporary.
Individual
In the individual category, a gymnast performs their routine within 1 minute 15 seconds to 1 minute 30 seconds, with or without apparatus.
Group Exercise
For the group exercise, a team of five gymnasts will perform simultaneously on the carpet using one or two apparatuses together during their routine.
